Important Vote!
The ARW Board approved the ARW Bylaws changes below at the 6/4/2025 Board Meeting.
Per the unedited Bylaws: "These bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the Club by a two-thirds (2/3) vote provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing to the membership at least ten (10) days prior to the meeting."
Main changes:
1. Add a Doing Business As (DBA) name of "Amarillo Republicans", with a plan to refer to ARW as Amarillo Republicans, yet not lose touch with our history and our past. Rationale: We are getting more male members and anticipate this will help us to continue to grow and expand. It also promotes unity in our Republican Club. We've had several comments that it would be easier to invite male friends and get them to join if we go by Amarillo Republicans.
2. Simplified wording and made grammatical changes.
3. Added bullets for ease of reading.
4. Removed the word "all" throughout, as it is a redundant term.
5. Removed "Recording" from Secretary.
6. Removed "she" and "woman" to make it a more neutral document.
7. Clarified the nominations section, and moved the information about the elections down to the elections section.
8. Moved Board members who are not Committees from the Committee Section (Article VIII), to the Article VI. Board of Directors Section.
9. Added a duty to the Parliamentarian.
10. Changed "Publicity" to Media Coordinator.
11. Added "Membership" and "Programs" to the Committees Section (Article VIII), as the duties for those Board positions list that they will be the Chairs of those Committees.
